This document explains what information the AI Subtitle Generator app collects, why it collects it, who it is shared with, and how you can contact us about it. We have written this in plain language on purpose — your privacy matters to us, and a policy is worthless if you cannot understand it.

AI Subtitle Generator keeps the following data locally on your phone. It is never transmitted to us, and is deleted automatically if you uninstall the app:
Like most modern apps, AI Subtitle Generator uses Google's Firebase tools to keep the app running well and to operate it after release. We do not add any custom tracking beyond what these tools collect automatically.

We do not collect an advertising ID, location, contacts, or any gallery/media access beyond the single file you actively choose to transcribe.
The app does not include a built-in contact or feedback form. The app does not ask you to register an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use it. If you want to reach us, you can email us directly at the address in section 11 — we only see what you choose to write.
When you pick an audio or video file to transcribe, the app uses Android's built-in file picker (Storage Access Framework). This means the app does not request broad storage or gallery permission — it only ever gets access to the single file you actively select, and that file is read on-device to produce the transcript. Neither the file nor the transcript is uploaded anywhere.
The app shows a notification while a transcription is running in the background, so you can leave the app and come back once it's done — this is required by Android for any background processing task and contains no personal data. If you grant notification permission, we may also send occasional app-wide announcements. You can turn notifications off any time in Android Settings → Apps → AI Subtitle Generator → Notifications.

We do not share your personal information with these services because the app does not collect personal information in the first place. We do share device + usage information as part of normal operation of these services.
AI Subtitle Generator does not show ads and does not integrate any ad network or SDK. There is nothing to opt out of here.
Children under 13 are not the audience for this app; the app is not directed at children. If a parent believes their child has used the app, they may contact us to discuss any concerns.

You can request deletion of all data tied to your device by emailing aisubtitlegenerator.app@gmail.com with the subject line "AI Subtitle Generator data deletion request". We will forward the request to Google to remove the associated analytics/crash data within 30 days.

If you live in a region with specific data protection rights (such as the EU, UK, California), you also have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Please contact us to exercise these rights.
We take reasonable steps to protect the information collected through the app. Communication with Firebase and Hugging Face happens over secure HTTPS connections. We do not store any password or authentication token for you because the app does not have a login.
No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident occurs that affects users, we will publish an update at the URL where this policy is hosted within a reasonable time frame.
This app is intended for users aged 13 and above. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Effective date" at the top of this document and publish the new version at the same URL.
By continuing to use the app after a change, you accept the updated policy. If you do not accept it, you may uninstall the app at any time.
