Japa Counter app · Parismita Global Solutions

Effective date: 23 July 2026 App: Japa Counter (com.parismitaglobalsolutions.japa_counter) Contact: japacounter.app@gmail.com

This document explains what information the Japa Counter app collects, why it collects it, who it is shared with, and how you can contact us about it. We have written this in plain language on purpose — your privacy matters to us, and a policy is worthless if you cannot understand it.

1. Short summary (the gist)

If any of this is unclear, please email us — we will reply in plain English.

2. Information the app collects

2.1 Information stored only on your device

Japa Counter keeps the following data locally on your phone, using on-device storage. It is never transmitted to us, and is deleted automatically if you uninstall the app:

2.2 Information we collect automatically

Like most modern apps, Japa Counter uses third-party tools that automatically collect anonymous device and usage information. We do this only to keep the app running well and to make it better over time.

The information collected can include:

2.3 Information you choose to send us

The app does not ask you to register an account, sign in, or provide any personal information to use it. The only way information reaches us directly is if you use the optional "Suggest a Deity" form on the home screen — this opens your device's own email app with a pre-filled message (deity name, optional shloka/note, and an optional photo you choose). It is sent as a normal email from your account to ours; we only see what you choose to send, and only if you tap "Send".

2.4 Photos

Japa Counter does not request permission to read your gallery.

When you attach a photo to the "Suggest a Deity" form, your phone shows Android's official Photo Picker. You select one photo, and the app only receives that one photo, attached to the email you send. The app never sees the rest of your gallery.

2.5 Notifications

If you grant notification permission, we may send you gentle reminders or occasional announcements. You can turn notifications off any time in Android Settings → Apps → Japa Counter → Notifications.

3. Third-party services we use

The app integrates the following services. Each has its own privacy policy — click through if you want the full detail.

ServiceWhat it doesPrivacy policy
Firebase Analytics (Google)Anonymous app usage eventspolicies.google.com
Firebase Crashlytics (Google)Anonymous crash reportspolicies.google.com
Firebase Remote Config (Google)Lets us update deity names, images, and shlokas without an app updatepolicies.google.com
Firebase Cloud Messaging (Google)Optional push notificationspolicies.google.com
Google Mobile Ads / AdMobShows the banner adpolicies.google.com/technologies/ads

We do not share your personal information with these services because the app does not collect personal information in the first place. We do share device + usage information as part of normal operation of these services.

4. Advertising

The app shows a banner ad at the bottom of the home and counter screens. We use Google AdMob to serve it. Japa Counter does not show full-screen interstitial ads — a sudden fullscreen ad during a japa session would break the meditative flow, so ads are limited to the small bottom banner only. You can also turn the banner off entirely at any time from the counter screen's menu (Hide Ads).

Google may use your Android Advertising ID to show you relevant ads. To control or opt out of personalised advertising:

Children under 13 are not the audience for this app; the app is not directed at children. If a parent believes their child has used the app, they may contact us to discuss any concerns.

5. How we use the information

We use the information we collect to:

We do not use your information to:

6. Data retention

You can request deletion of all data tied to your device by emailing japacounter.app@gmail.com with the subject line "Japa Counter data deletion request". Include your Android Advertising ID (found at Android Settings → Privacy → Ads). We will forward the request to Google to remove the associated data within 30 days.

7. Your choices and rights

You always have the right to:

If you live in a region with specific data protection rights (such as the EU, UK, California), you also have the right to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you. Please contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Security

We take reasonable steps to protect the information collected through the app. Communication with Firebase and AdMob happens over secure HTTPS connections. We do not store any password or authentication token for you because the app does not have a login.

No system is perfectly secure. If a security incident occurs that affects users, we will publish an update at the URL where this policy is hosted within a reasonable time frame.

9. Children's privacy

This app is intended for users aged 13 and above. It is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided information through this app, please contact us and we will take steps to remove it.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will change the "Effective date" at the top of this document and publish the new version at the same URL. Major changes will be highlighted on the home screen on the first launch after the change.

By continuing to use the app after a change, you accept the updated policy. If you do not accept it, you may uninstall the app at any time.

11. Contact us

If you have any questions about this policy, want to request data deletion, or want to give feedback:

This policy is intended to be readable in everyday language. If something here is unclear or ambiguous, please contact us — we would rather rewrite a confusing sentence than leave you guessing.
