1. Who we are
Suprabhat (the "app") is a mobile application that helps you create and share morning greeting images. It is published and operated by Parismita Global Solutions ("we", "us", or "our").
This policy explains what information the app collects, how that information is used, and the choices you have. By installing and using Suprabhat, you agree to this policy.
2. Plain-English summary
3. What we collect
3.1 Information you provide
You do not create an account to use Suprabhat. The text and images you compose inside the app stay on your device unless you tap Share or Save. We do not receive, store, or read the contents of your greetings.
3.2 Information collected automatically
The app collects the following standard mobile-app telemetry through Google Firebase:
| Category | Example data | Purpose |
|---|---|---|
| Usage events | screen views; "create greeting" tapped; "share" tapped; template applied; language changed | Understand which features are useful so we can improve the app |
| Crash & error reports | app version, device model, OS version, stack trace, time of crash | Diagnose and fix crashes through Firebase Crashlytics |
| Anonymous identifiers | Firebase install ID, Android Advertising ID (for ads) | Crash grouping; ad fraud prevention; ad personalisation (you can reset or limit this) |
| Device language / locale | e.g. hi, gu, en |
Render the UI in your chosen language |
| FCM token prefix | First few characters of your Firebase Cloud Messaging token | Diagnose notification delivery issues |
3.3 Information stored locally on your device
The app stores a small amount of data on your device using Android's secure preferences storage. This data never leaves your phone:
- Your selected app language
- Whether you've been shown the notification opt-in prompt
- A counter of how many greetings you've shared (used to time the "rate the app" prompt)
- Cached Pexels image URLs used for template backgrounds (no personal data)
Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored data.
4. What we don't collect
- We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, or any government ID.
- We do not collect your contact list, call logs, SMS, calendar, or location.
- We do not collect the contents of any greeting you create, save, or share.
- We do not access photos in your gallery beyond the specific image you pick to use as a background.
- We do not sell your personal information to anyone. Ever.
5. How we use data
The data described above is used only for the following purposes:
- Run the app reliably — diagnose crashes, monitor performance.
- Improve the app — identify which features are valuable and which need work.
- Show ads — through Google AdMob, which keeps Suprabhat free.
- Send notifications — daily morning reminders (local) and occasional in-app announcements (Firebase Cloud Messaging).
- Provide essential functionality — fetch background and frame images from Pexels, fetch occasional English inspiration quotes from a public quotes API.
We do not use the data for profiling, automated decision-making, or to build any user profile beyond what Google's standard Firebase Analytics provides.
6. Third-party services
To deliver the features above we use the following third-party services. Each has its own privacy policy; please review them if you would like to understand how they handle data.
| Service | What it does | Privacy policy |
|---|---|---|
| Google Firebase (Core, Analytics, Crashlytics, Remote Config, Cloud Messaging) | App stability, anonymous usage analytics, server-driven configuration, push notifications | firebase.google.com/support/privacy |
| Google AdMob | Serves the banner and interstitial ads | policies.google.com/technologies/ads |
| Pexels | Provides background and frame images for templates | pexels.com/privacy-policy |
| ZenQuotes | Public-domain English inspirational quotes (used when your app language is English) | zenquotes.io/terms |
| Google Play Services / In-App Update / In-App Review | Detects new versions on the Play Store and shows the native "rate the app" prompt | policies.google.com/privacy |
When you tap Share, the Android system Share sheet (and any app you pick from it, such as WhatsApp) operates under its own privacy policy. We do not control what those apps do with the image you share.
7. Device permissions
The app requests the following permissions only when needed:
| Permission | Why we need it | Optional? |
|---|---|---|
| Photos & media (READ_MEDIA_IMAGES on Android 13+; READ_EXTERNAL_STORAGE on older versions) | So you can pick an image from your gallery as a greeting background | Yes — only required if you choose the Gallery option |
| Camera | So you can take a new photo to use as a greeting background. Handled through the system camera app — Suprabhat itself does not include camera permission in its manifest. | Yes — only required if you choose the Camera option |
| Notifications (POST_NOTIFICATIONS on Android 13+) | To send your daily morning reminder and occasional app announcements | Yes — you can decline or disable later from system settings |
| Internet | To fetch Pexels images, deliver ads, send analytics, and receive Cloud Messaging notifications | Required for online features; the app can still create greetings offline |
| Write external storage (WRITE_EXTERNAL_STORAGE, Android 9 and below only) | To save your created greeting into the device gallery on older Android versions | Only requested on Android 9 or below; modern Android uses scoped storage automatically |
8. Ads & personalisation
Suprabhat is free because it is supported by ads delivered by Google AdMob. AdMob may use device identifiers and limited device information (such as the Android Advertising ID, coarse location derived from IP, and device type) to serve more relevant ads.
You can control or reset your Advertising ID at any time:
- Open your device's Settings → Google → Ads.
- Tap Delete advertising ID or toggle Opt out of Ads Personalisation.
You will still see ads after opting out, but they will be non-personalised.
9. Notifications
The app sends two kinds of notifications:
- Daily morning reminder — scheduled and shown by your device. Nothing leaves your phone for this notification.
- Announcements — occasionally sent via Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). FCM uses an anonymous device token. You can disable these at any time.
You can turn notifications off at any time from your device's Settings → Apps → Suprabhat → Notifications.
10. Children's privacy
Suprabhat is intended for a general audience aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us at the address below and we will assist promptly.
11. Data retention
- Locally stored preferences — kept on your device until you uninstall the app or clear app data.
- Analytics events — Firebase Analytics retains user-level event data for the period set in our Firebase project (default: 14 months) and aggregate data indefinitely.
- Crash reports — Firebase Crashlytics retains reports for 90 days.
- Ad-related identifiers — governed by Google's AdMob retention policies linked above.
12. Security
All network communication from the app uses HTTPS / TLS. Firebase services authenticate your install with secure tokens issued by Google. We do not run our own servers that store user data; we rely on Google's Firebase infrastructure, which is certified under SOC 1, SOC 2, SOC 3, ISO 27001 and other industry standards.
No method of internet transmission or electronic storage is 100% secure, but we follow industry-standard practices and keep the app's data exposure as narrow as possible by not collecting personal information in the first place.
13. Your choices & rights
You have the following choices regarding your data:
- Decline notifications at the opt-in prompt or via system settings.
- Opt out of personalised ads through your device's Google Ads settings.
- Reset your Advertising ID at any time.
- Uninstall the app — this removes all locally stored data and stops further analytics collection.
- Request deletion of analytics or crash data tied to your install by emailing us with your Firebase install ID (we can guide you on how to find it).
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, India, or a U.S. state with a privacy law (such as California's CCPA / CPRA), you may have additional rights such as the right to access, correct, or restrict processing of your personal data. Contact us at the address below to exercise any of these rights.
14. Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be highlighted in the app or via an in-app notice. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
